Buyers' Comments

"Standard Publishing is a 106-year-old business doing colour brochures, books and other commercial printing materials. With the scope of a printer's job diversifying today, we have just expanded to include a mailing section that has driven us to source for more innovative materials and products. We are also outsourcing 40% of our work to factories in Australia, Indonesia and the Chinese mainland, and this will also be a great opportunity to look for more working partners. This is a very well-organised fair, and it is terrific that the organisers have pre-arranged for me to meet with six potential companies. This is really first-class service and I'll be back."
Mr Neil Armstrong, Managing Director, Standard Publishing House, Australia

"We are placing orders in China through our European agency as well as through direct contact, so it is interesting to see more suppliers here. Sourcing from China gives us a big advantage because of the strong Euro. Last year at this fair I found a few China suppliers that are very customer-oriented; they have a lot of good ideas to enhance our products and are reliable with good quality. This year I am back to further explore new suppliers that can produce with novel techniques not available in Germany. Even for manufacturers that produce with technology already available in Germany, their prices are much lower here."
Mr Reiner Blankenhorn, Director of Production and Information Management, Langenscheidt KG, Germany

"We are a leading publishing company of practical guide books. The books are printed mainly in Germany but part of our programme is done in China. In Germany the book market is very competitive so publishers always look out for special materials and printing processes that make their publications more attractive to consumers. It is usually the smaller companies that own these special techniques, and there are many of them here. In the last two years I have found at this fair some suppliers that have special printing skills and materials I had not come across before. It is wonderful that I can meet many suppliers all under one roof as it saves my time running around."
Mr Thomas Narr, Production Director, Grafe Und Unzer Verlag GmbH, Germany

"We are one of the biggest magazine printing houses in Europe and the largest in Poland offering magazines, catalogues, as well as retail and advertising materials. I am here for the first time to explore possibilities to collaborate with printing houses in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, and hope to get a chance to visit their manufacturing facilities as well. I am also exploring new materials for our production, and I have already discovered some very strongly constructed corrugated carton boxes that can be used to replace the wooden boxes we currently utilise to ship our magazines to various countries in Europe."
Ms Grazyna Hejneman, Manager of Promotion & Advertising, Winkowski Sp. Z.o.o., Poland

"Vinpas Packaging Association has 120 members specialising in the production of different packaging products. Nowadays the hottest packaging area in Vietnam is food packaging and pharmaceutical packaging, and we are here to explore collaboration opportunities with counterparts in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland in these sectors. Though just my first time here, I have found that this fair offers an excellent platform for us to view a profusion of raw materials, and it keeps us abreast of the latest market trends and new technology employed by the industry."
Mr Nguyen Ngoc Sang, Chairman, Vinpas Vietnam Packaging Association, Vietnam
